New Hope for Patients Suffering from Dysphagia

Birmingham, AL. July 26, 2004 – Reliant Medical Products, Inc. today announced that revisions have been made to the popular Provale^® Cup. The Provale^® Cup, which delivers a fixed amount of fluid with every drinking motion, is quickly becoming a leading liquid delivery system for patients with dysphagia. Modifications to the cup should increase customer/user satisfaction.

Currently there are 10 million potential users with swallowing disorders. After diagnosis, patients are often put on restricted diets and asked to take small sips of liquid to prevent aspiration into their lungs. The Provale^® Cup assists dysphagia patients by providing measured small swallows, either in 5 cc or 10cc boluses, with every normal drinking motion without the use of thickeners.
